BDA @ Summerschool & EURO

Between May 24 and July 3, 2024, our colleague Felix Rauschert spent two weeks at the DTU in Copenhagen.

In the first week, the university hosted a summer school on the topic of "Future Mobility: Optimizing user-centric transit Networks under uncertainty". During the intensive course days, there were lectures and hands-on sessions from various international professors on the topics of line planning, network design, mobility on demand, behavior models, and robust optimization.

In the second week, EURO 2024 took place on the university campus. In addition to many interesting presentations and keynotes, the focus was also on networking. Felix Rauschert presented his joint research with Matthias Ribesmeier and Pascal Kerschke in the paper "Enhancing Emergency Response Efficiency via Deep Reinforcement Learning: A Novel Model for Dynamic Dispatching". They used the optimization of the dispatching of emergency vehicles to show how reinforcement learning can help with optimization problems.
