Big Data Analytics in Transportation -- in a Nutshell

The main focus of our activities is the efficient and automated extraction of information from various data sources. In particular, we are interested in data related to mobility, transportation and economics.

We are thus working in one of the currently most relevant and challenging research topics, which specifically applies technologies from the intersection of computer science and statistics (incl. AI, machine learning, and optimization) to problems originating in real-world applications with the goal of

• efficiently preprocessing the given data set,
• exploring the data by visual means and exploratory data analysis, and subsequently
• extracting and analyzing the information contained therein in a concise and automated manner.
