Abstract
Seit längerer Zeit erfährt der Consumer-Electronics-Markt einen Wandel von analogen Technologien und Medien hin zu digitalen. Statt Videokassetten werden im Handel fast ausschließlich nur noch DVDs angeboten bzw. verkauft und das digitale Fernsehen ist dabei, sich auf dem TV-Markt zu etablieren. Der analoge Videorecorder sieht sich zunehmend der digitalen Konkurrenz ausgesetzt. Diese neuen Endgeräte sind durch eine bessere Bildqualität, größeren Funktionsumfang sowie einer Internetanbindung ausgestattet. Die technologischen Voraussetzungen für den Einsatz von Networked Personal Video Recording und die sich ergebenden Veränderungen des TV-Nachfrager-Verhaltens sowie die wirtschaftlichen Auswirkungen auf Grund des Einsatzes vernetzter digitaler Videorecorder werden analysiert.
