The Institute of Transport and Economics offers at the Chair of Econometrics and Statistics, esp. in the Transport Sector a job position with starting date 01.11.2019 as a

                                              Research Associate / Doctoral Student
                           (in the presence of the personal requiments E 13 TV-L)

with 75% of the regular weekly working time until 31.10.2022 (duration of employment following 'WissZeitVG') with the objective of additional scientific qualification (usually PhD).

Your future tasks:

• participation in teaching as well as in research activities in the field of statistics and quantitative research
• theoretical and emipirical research
• participation in academic self-administration
• participation in international conferences including your own presentations (in German and English) in the area of theoretical or applied statistics and empirical economic research
• execution of courses in the area of statistical education for Bachelor and Master students
• consulting of/support for students
• writing scientific publications and presentation of the research results at international conferences (also in English)

Your profile:

• superior scientific degree in economics, business mathematics, statistics or in a similar quantitative course of studies
• strong capability of analytical thinking
• interest in application and development of scientific methods in the field of statistics
• ready-to-use-skills in common statistical software as R (preferred), Matlab or Python
• interest in quantitativ-empirical or theoretical research projects
• willingness to teach and to present your research results
• good spoken and written English
