Meta-Analysis Conference in Ottawa
Our colleague Anna Schütze presented her research at the Meta-Analysis Conference 2025 at the University of Ottawa, organized by Prof. Abel Brodeur, on the topic “Meta-analysis on the Effect of Cash Transfer Programs on Educational Outcomes: An Analysis of Program Characteristics and Publication Bias.”
We recommend the following: If you are planning to conduct a meta-analysis, make sure to apply methods to detect and adjust for publication bias not only qualitatively, but also quantitatively. Techniques such as FAT-PET, PEESE, MAIVE, and other approaches recommended by the MAER (Meta-Analysis of Economic Research) network can be highly effective.
Next year, the MAER network will meet in Germany, at the University of Chemnitz, on September 24–25, 2026, organized by Prof. Sebastian Gechert. Everyone is invited to attend as a listener, so feel free to get in contact with our chair if you would like to go to the conference together.
