Uni Day - University Information Day 2025
On May 24, the Chair of Automotive Engineering was represented at the stand of the "Automotive and Rail Vehicle Technology" specialization of the mechanical engineering degree course. Visitors took the opportunity to find out about the course content and career opportunities in mechanical engineering.
A special highlight:
Some of our test benches from the parameterization line as 3D-printed models, which showed what modern testing and experimental technologies look like in miniature - ideal if you can't be directly on site at the Vehicle Technology Test Center (FVZ).

Model Powertrain Test Rig

Model DDS
We also presented current projects, including the DDS - Dresden Driving Simulator, the highly immersive driving simulator. This driving simulator development enables a realistic perception of vehicle behaviour for the first time and is thus revolutionizing the development of automated vehicles. Another exciting project is the SML - Smart Mobility Lab, which is currently being built on a site in the "Schwarzkollm/Laubusch" industrial estate in Schwarzkollm, a district of Hoyerswerda. The SML is a new innovative and interdisciplinary research center of TU Dresden and at the same time forms the prelude to the Lausitz research campus of TU Dresden in the immediate vicinity of Hoyerswerda. It offers the perfect conditions for basic research and application-oriented research in the field of mobility solutions of the future.

Many thanks for the interesting discussions and the commitment shown to our research and teaching topics. We look forward to welcoming future students who would like to rethink mobility with us!
