Aircraft Cabin Mockup at the Zentrum für angewandte Luftfahrtforschung (ZAL)
Through collaborations on projects within the Luffahrtforschungsprogramm, particularly with the Institute for Aircraft Cabin Systems at the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), the ITVS Chair has the opportunity to use a aircraft cabin mockup at the Zentrum für angewandte Luffahrtforschung (ZAL) in Hamburg as a test facility.
The ZAL has a large test hall with various mockups and test environments, including those in the field of cabin technologies. At the ZAL, Airbus, Lufthansa Technik, Hamburg universities, and other industry partners collaborate to strengthen the aviation research network in Hamburg. The cabin mockup is suitable for conducting experiments in the field of connected and intelligent aircraft cabins, e.g., measuring radio coverage in the cabin, evaluating sensor systems for detection, or wireless sensor networks for localization.
In the summer of 2023, the ITVS chair was able to conduct measurements as part of the ADKT in the aircraft cabin mockup at Lufthansa Technik at the ZAL.
