ADKT - Alternative Wireless Communication Technologies for WLAN - Application Fields, Integration and Requirements for the Aircraft Cabin
The overall objective of this project is to investigate wireless radio technologies for use in aircraft cabins as an alternative to WLAN and to examine and evaluate them with regard to various technical and regulatory requirements as well as their interoperability and coexistence potential.
The scientific-technical goals of ITVS can be divided into three superordinate work objectives:
- Establishment of an optimized concept for communication and localization applications in the aircraft cabin for different radio technologies: Identification of suitable wireless technologies; scientific investigations of interoperability and technology coexistence; radio (network) planning
- Design of a simulation and test system: analysis of transmission technologies and procedures, interference and interoperability; parameterizable laboratory setup for RF environment simulation and optimization of interference robustness; prototypical implementation of a communication and localization application
- Implementation of a condition monitoring system: intelligent integrity monitoring system for permanent and parallel monitoring of different communication parameters and technologies with adaptive intervention possibilities. The aim is to detect faults in the communication channel and thus optimize the availability and reliability of the overall system.
