DigiShip - SpAss / AI-based modeling and system integration for the sportsboat assistant
The aim of SpAss is to develop an assistance system for sportsboats that supports boat operators in critical scenarios such as navigating locks, mooring and casting off maneuvers, encounter traffic, bridge crossings and in port areas, thus enabling precise navigation. Through the combination of various sensors and the use of artificial intelligence, the system provides precise information about the surroundings, gives recommendations for navigation and thus improves the skipper's situational awareness. To achieve this, position accuracy and object recognition must be significantly increased and trajectory planning must be supported. The subsystems to be developed in the project include boat dynamics modelling and camera-based object classification based on trained AI models, GNSS absolute positioning using PPP and PPP-RTK as well as time synchronization of the network components.
