VAMOS4 B170
Project manager: Dipl.-Ing. Matthias Körner
TUD-internal project partner: Fakultät Verkehrswissenschaften "Friedrich List": Professur für Verkehrspsychologie
Project duration: 12/2017 - 10/2022
Brief description: The first application of the VAMOS4 architecture is in the VAMOS4B170 project.
A wide range of telematics solutions are being established by the Saxon State Office for Road Construction and Traffic on the B170 federal highway between Bannewitz and the Dresden city limits to increase traffic safety and ease traffic flow.
Dual and single induction loops, Bluetooth detections and a smoothness detection system will be used as sensors. In addition, blocking and congestion information from the traffic management system VAMOS2 Dresden is integrated for the relevant near environment of VAMOS4B170.
Matrix information boards will form the core of the information transfer to the road users. In the future, information relevant to traffic safety, such as slippery conditions, excessive speeds or insufficient vehicle distances, will be displayed fully automatically on the displays. When the boards are put into operation, information on obstructions in the traffic flow and on closures will be displayed. In addition, it is planned to display manually specified content in response to undetected events. The information will be conveyed by means of text output, supplemented by map displays for easier spatial classification.
In parallel, this information will be made available to connected driving for dissemination via road side units.
