NEXUS Seminar winter term 2018/2019
The NEXUS Seminar, the seminar series born out of the collaboration between TU Dresden and the Dresden based Institute for Integrated Management of Material Fluxes and of Resources at the United Nations University (UNU-FLORES), goes into the next round. Since 2015, the NEXUS Seminar offers scientific contributions relating to the subject of sustainable soil, water and waste management. The seminar is not only a platform for scientific exchange and cooperation between UNU-FLORES and TU Dresden but also a medium for researchers to present their research and discuss it with a broader audience.
The seminars in the winter term of 2018/2019 are as follows:
- 5thNovember 2018 – “Ecosystem services in transformed landscapes: concepts, methods and challenges“ with Ms. Karla Locher-Krause, research assistant on the topics of biodiversity and ecosystem services, UNU-FLORES. The event takes place in: UNU-FLORES, Ammonstr. 74, 9thFloor, 3 pm.
- 19thNovember 2018 – “How to measure the Nexus: what can we learn from connectivity on natural, social and financial capital in corporate reporting“ with Prof. T. Günther, Chair of Business Management, esp. Management Accounting and Control and member of PRISMA – Centre for Sustainability Assessment and Policy at TU Dresden. The event takes place in:TU Dresden, Schumannbau, Münchner Platz 3, room SCH/A1/H, 3 pm.
- 17thDecember 2018 – “Safe use of wastewater in agriculture: policy implementation in Colombia“ with Ms. Natalia Jimenez, visiting scholar on the topics of waste management and wastewater treatment, UNU-FLORES. The event takes place in: UNU-FLORES, Ammonstr. 74, 9thFloor, 3 pm.
- 21stJanuary 2019 – “Back to nature: how sustainable is construction with wood?“ with Prof. P. Haller, Chair of Timber Engineering and Construction Design and member of PRISMA – Centre for Sustainability Assessment and Policy. At TU Dresden. The event takes place in: TU Dresden, Schumannbau, Münchner Platz 3, room SCH/A1/H, 3 pm.
