General information on the Theodor Wessels Prize
The Theodor-Wessels-Preis is awarded every two years by the Theodor-Wessels-Stiftung, which was established in 1981 in honor of the founder and long-time director of the Institute of Energy Economics at the University of Cologne, Professor Theodor Wessels. The price is awarded to doctoral candidates at German or foreign universities. It recognizes work that significantly contributes to clarifying business and economic issues in the energy industry or solving important energy policy problems. A highly qualified jury, consisting of representatives from academia and industry, selects the winners from numerous applications.
