Keynote Speech "Generative AI in Finance" Paper Development Workshop
In July 2024, the Chair of Business Administration, esp. Finance and Financial Technology, together with Carol Alexander (University of Sussex) and Denis Schweizer (Concordia University), organized a paper development workshop focusing on the topic of generative AI in finance. The workshop offered participants the opportunity to present their current research work to an expert audience and discuss it in detail.
A particular highlight was Michael Weber's keynote speech on ‘The Promises and Pitfalls of Large Language Models in Finance’. Michael Weber is Associate Professor of Finance at the Chicago Booth School of Business. His research interests include asset pricing, macroeconomics, international finance and household finance. In his speech, he explained the opportunities and challenges of using large-scale language models in the financial sector and presented the results of his paper ‘ChatGPT and Corporate Policies’, which shows how ChatGPT can be used to evaluate other corporate policies such as dividends and employment.
The presentation is now available on the professor's YouTube channel.
