New interdisciplinary course "Space Economics"
In the summer semester 2024, the Chair of Business Administration, in particular Finance and Financial Technology, is offering a new module entitled Space Economics. In the module, students will learn basic economic theories that will help them to understand the market structure and development of the space industry. Students will be able to apply economic models to the space industry and modify them accordingly. They will also be able to transfer solutions to economic problems to problems in the space industry.
There are also two exciting guest lectures. On June 11, 2024, Stefan Schneider (EU Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA)) invites the students to a guest lecture in Prague at the headquarters of the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA). His lecture will focus on European space missions and the financing of European space start-ups. On July 9, 2024, Iona Petrescu (Harvard Kennedy School and former Romanian Minister of Finance) will speak on the perspective of political decision-makers on the space economy.
The new module is primarily aimed at students of Economics and engineers specializing in aerospace engineering. Interested students from other engineering disciplines are also welcome. Further information on the module, such as the course outline, can be found here. If you have any questions, please contact Daniel Vrankar.
