Participation and presentation at the VHB ProDok course on Experimental Research
From September 9–12, 2025, Maximilian Meiler participated in the VHB ProDok course “Experimental Research and Behavioral Decision Making,” taught by Prof. Dr. Christian D. Schade in Berlin.
During the course, Maximilian presented a planned field experiment, joint work with Katharina Hartinger, Lars Hornuf, David J. Streich: Generative artificial intelligence (AI) is often linked to productivity gains, yet in practice, concerns about automation and potential job losses may hinder its adoption in everyday working life. To address this, the authors plan to conduct a field experiment in collaboration with a large German savings bank to examine whether technical training, combined with explicitly addressing concerns about the future of work and professional identity, can increase adoption. In particular, we focus on whether purpose-oriented training generates additional benefits for professional identity reflection and perceived meaningfulness beyond transferring technical skills.
Maximilian gratefully acknowledges the valuable feedback from Prof. Schade and the course participants.
