Recap - 2nd Conference on AI in Corporate Finance at TUD
On September 25–26, 2025, the Chair of Finance and Financial Technology at TU Dresden hosted the 2nd Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Corporate Finance in combination with a paper development workshop for a special issue in Finance Research Letters. Following last year’s successful “Generative AI in Finance” event, the two-day conference brought together leading scholars and early-career researchers to discuss how artificial intelligence is reshaping corporate finance research and practice.
The first day featured a PhD and Postdoc Workshop at TU Dresden, with hands-on sessions on running large language models locally and on interpretable and explainable AI methods for financial applications.
On the second day, the conference moved to the Impact Hub Dresden for paper presentations, fire talks, and networking opportunities. Topics included, among many others, AI-driven startup valuation, earnings prediction, and ESG communication. A highlight was the keynote lecture by Anastassia Fedyk (UC Berkeley) on Artificial Intelligence and Firms’ Systematic Risk.
The program concluded with a lively drinks reception and the conference dinner at the Luxury Hotel Suitess, located directly next to Dresden’s popular Frauenkirche.
This year’s conference also served as a paper development workshop for a special issue in Finance Research Letters, offering participants the opportunity to receive detailed feedback from editors and the guest editorial team, including Tony Klein (Chemnitz University) and Lars Hornuf (TU Dresden).
We thank all presenters, discussants, and participants for their valuable contributions and look forward to continuing the conversation at the upcoming second paper development workshop at Concordia University (October 27–29, 2025).
