TUD|excite FUTURELAB at the 27th CINet Conference in Genoa
From September 13 to 15, 2026, Dr. Nagwan Abu El-Ella and Johannes Paul from TUD|excite FUTURELAB, along with Nicholas Bost from the Chair of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, presented their latest research at the 27th Conference of the Creativity and Innovation Management Network (CINet) at the University of Genoa. The focus was on the paper “Patents in Search for New Business Models: Fostering Entrepreneurial Intent Through Patent Incubation Within a Deep Tech Ecosystem.” It examines how working with real university patents in TUD|excite’s international summer school can foster entrepreneurial thinking and startup intentions. Initial findings suggest that patents offer a promising starting point for the search for new business models. At the same time, ongoing support within the deep tech ecosystem could play an important role. The exchange with the international community provided valuable insights for further research and future collaborations.
