EURO 2019 Conference in Dublin with Final of EEPA Award
The EURO 2019 Conference of the Association of European Societies for Operations Research took place from June 23 to 26 2019 on the premises of the University College Dublin with over 2,500 participants. As one of 6 finalists of the Europe-wide EURO Excellence in Practice Award, Dr. Neufeld presented the project SINA - Schichtplanerstellung für Zugebegleiter im Nahverkehr bei der DB Regio AG, which has been carried out successfully by the Chair of Industrial Management. Since 1995, the award honors outstanding applications of Operations Research in practice. The participation in the final with the presentation "An Efficient Hybrid Column Generation Approach for Practical Railway Crew Scheduling with Attendance Rates" is already a great success.
Prof. Buscher and Dr. Neufeld also organized the Session Scheduling Models for Complex Manufacturing Systems. In this context, two current research topics of the chair could be presented:
- MIP-formulation for integrated production and outbound distribution scheduling with site selection (Prof. Buscher)
- A MIP model for Hybrid Flowshop Scheduling with Tooling Constraints (Dr. Neufeld)
