IM Challenge 2016 - Tourist Trip Design Problem
As in the previous summer term, the Chair of Industrial Management offers interested students the seminar IM-Challenge. Hereby, students of higher semesters get the possibility to work on a practical problem, that is to be solved with economic means and OR tools. The kick-off event takes place on 19th April 2016, 2nd double period in room HÜL N 509.
This year’s problem is well know to most of us. One travels into a big city, the visit is limited to just one day and yet, there’s so much to be seen. This problem is refered to in the literature as tourist trip design problem (TTDP) and is closely related with the Prize Collecting TSP (PCTSP), which can be found in many economic problems. In our special case you get 12 hours to gain as much profit as possible in, unsurprisingly, Dresden. The team, which makes the most profit within these 12 hours wins. You’ll find more information here: IM_Challenge.
