GO-flexi project launch
On 01.10.2024, the project "Gymnasiale Oberstufe flexibilisieren durch Stundenplanung (GO-flexi)", funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), was officially launched. The joint project is being carried out in cooperation between TU Dresden and Bielefeld University by an interdisciplinary research team from the fields of Education and Business Administration and Economics and will run for three years.
A flexible upper secondary school as an educational innovation pursues the goal of enabling individual educational paths and more equal opportunities. In particular, models that focus on freedom of choice and individual support present schools with new organizational challenges. The complex timetabling resulting from flexibilization often proves to be an obstacle to adequate implementation and exceeds the organizational capacities of schools. The GO-flexi project addresses this challenge. Based on the analysis of organizational and pedagogical requirements in six cooperation schools with flexible upper secondary schools from three federal states, the specific challenges of timetabling are reconstructed. Based on the insights gained and the changed requirements, the project aims to develop and test innovative approaches to digitally-supported timetabling for flexible upper secondary schools.
