Economic Disruptions and Societal Change. Workshop on Networking and Development in the fields of "Societal Change" and "Business and Economics"
There are many issues that need to be considered from an interdisciplinary perspective, especially from the perspectives of economics and the humanities and social scienes, in order to understand them comprehensively and to open up creative freedom:
- How do economic shocks affect households and companies, and what political challenges do they provoke?
- Is a disruptive shock conducive to sustainable social development? If so, how can a disruptive shock possibly be brought about in a targeted and non-random way?
- How sensitive are organizations to disruptions and how flexible are they in dealing with them?
- What role does temporal complexity - i.e. the superimposition of multiple, asynchronous rhythms and processes that can hardly be synchronized - play when dealing with disruptions?
- How can continuity be restored after disruptive events?
These interdisciplinary questions are associated with methodological and scientific-theoretical challenges:
- What can we learn in interdisciplinary discourse about our research in terms of conent and methodology?
- What points of content are there for interdisciplinary research and teaching?
- How can research in the humanities and social sciences on the consequences of economic crises be linked to the various other disciplines, such as engineering, economics, psychology, geography or environmental sciences?
