Intercity bus planning
Intercity bus planning has established itself as an essential part of the public transport network and plays a crucial role in meeting the increasing demand for sustainable and efficient transport options. However, with the increased use of buses and the growth in passenger numbers, new challenges arise that require optimised planning.
The focus of this dissertation is on central planning tasks in the context of intercity bus planning. These include transport network planning, timetabling and efficient circulation planning for buses. The sequential solution of these tasks forms the first step, whereby the mutual influence of the subtasks is taken into account. In the further course, a partially integrated view is sought within the framework of a combined approach in order to achieve a comprehensive optimisation of intercity bus planning. The practical nature of these problems makes it possible to test the developed algorithms using real application scenarios.
