5th OR-PhD Workshop on 05 November 2020

On November 5, 2020, the fifth doctoral workshop in the field of Operations Research took place in virtual form. The Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg was responsible for the organization. At this point we would like to thank Prof. Dr. Christian Bierwirth once again for the smooth organization. A total of seven professors and their colleagues from the following chairs took part in this multi-university workshop:

• Chair of Traffic Flow Science, TU Dresden, Prof. Dr. Karl Nachtigall

• Chair of Transport Services and Logistics, TU Dresden,  Prof. Dr. Jörn Schönberger

During the workshop, doctoral students had the opportunity to give a lecture on their doctoral project and discuss current research with those present. Our colleague Florian Linß presented the following topic:

• "An exact approach for a rich vehicle routing problem with carrier selection"

• David Rößler: "Developing robust electric bus systems through simultaneous optimization of charging infrastructure and vehicle schedules"
• Maik Schälicke: "Timetable recovery management with max-plus algebra"
