The Sub-Department of Industrial Management's field trip this year took place on 2 July 2015. Students and sub-departmental staff first visited SchoPlast Plastic GmbH in Bischofswerda, a medium-sized company specializing in thermoset and thermoplastic processing. In a talk, Mr Beyer (Assistant to the Board of Management and sub-department graduate!) first introduced the company and its products before focusing on the parallels between studying and everyday practice. A guided tour through the production plants provided a worthy conclusion.
The field trip then continued to Radeberg, where, after a brief lunch, the programme included a guided tour through the Radeberger Exportbierbrauerei GmbH. Mr Schiedermair (1st Radeberger master brewer) explained the details of the brewing process during his fascinating guided tour through the brewery and provided a detailed insight into the production-related processes of one of the largest breweries in Germany. The tour was rounded off by a small tasting ceremony before the participants set off back to Dresden.
