Review
On 27 October, students on the courses in Business Administration, International Management and Industrial Engineering visited the Siemens site in Görlitz (Siemens Power Generation), which has been supplying drive units for electricity/energy generation since 1910.
Nowadays, the site mainly manufactures Siemens and Alstom industrial steam turbines with outputs of up to 150 MW as well as condensers for steam turbines, and has around 6oo employees.
Field trip timetable:
7.30am Departure from the Georg-Schuhmann building at Münchner Platz
10am to 12.30pm Guided tour through the plant's main manufacturing areas
1pm to 1.45pm Lunch at the Wichernhaus
1.45pm to 3.30pm Guided city walk
3.30pm Return
