Award

The employees of the chair publish research seminar topics twice a year. The current dates can be viewed here. The topics processed in the research seminar will be deepened in the framework of the master's thesis. Participation in the research seminar is a prerequisite for the supervision of the master's thesis by the chair, but it is no guarantee.

General procedure

• Only those students may be admitted for diploma thesis who have passed the first part of the diploma examination. Besides, it is necessary to have taken part in the research seminar. In addition to these mandatory conditions, it is strongly recommended to visit the course "Scientific work" on our or on another chair for the preparation of the thesis.

• Directly after the supervision of the master thesis is firmly agreed with the chair, the admission to the thesis and the examiner are communicated to the candidates by the audit committee in written form. After presenting this notification, the theme of work is given to the examination candidate and the processing period of four months begins the next day.

• When there are valid reasons (e.g. illness) an extension of the deadline by a maximum of one month may be granted upon written application by the audit committee.

• The submission of the thesis takes place at the examination office. There must be submitted two bound copies together with the signed independence declaration and the assignment of the right to use. The entire work (in .doc (x) format and including the appendix) as well as the electronic sources have to be delivered electronically (via Cloud or USB-Stick). • The thesis will be assessed by the examiners.

• On request by the supervisor the diploma student may inspect the report issued by the examiners.
