Recommendations and reviews
Dear students,
Many of you turn to us for a letter of recommendation/assessment for a study abroad program or scholarship. If we can make an assessment, we are happy to support you. To make the process understandable and transparent, our chair has the following rules:
- We only issue letters of recommendation for students who have attended at least one course offered by our professorship. The course attended must have been graded with at least a good grade (≤ 2.5).
- If you have only attended a large course such as „Kosten- und Leistungsrechnung“ (“Cost Accounting"), we can of course only issue a grade-related letter of recommendation. Unfortunately, we cannot determine and certify personal characteristics ("social skills") for individual students due to the size of the course.
- We reserve the right to obtain additional information and, if necessary, to refrain from issuing a letter of recommendation based on this information. Therefore, please understand that all of the above points are prerequisites, but no guarantee that we will issue you with a letter of recommendation.
What documents do we need to prepare a letter of recommendation?
- Please provide us with a meaningful CV, an overview of your academic achievements to date, a description of your previous connections to the chair, and a meaningful description and justification of your project. Please send all documents in one PDF document to:
- The preparation of a letter of recommendation during the semester can usually take 2-4 weeks. During the semester break, this process may take longer (e.g., due to research stays, conference participation, vacations, etc.). Please take this into account when planning your requirements.
