New Publication in the German Journal of Human Resource Management
Dr. Ann Sophie Lauterbach from the Chair of Organization and Management, together with Dr. Katharina Radermacher from the University of Paderborn, has just published in the German Journal of Human Resource Management. In their article titled “Are the differences not that different? Exploring an age perspective on employee preferences using an employer review platform,” they examine workplace preferences across different age groups.
Based on employer reviews from the online platform Kununu, they show that fair and appreciative behavior by supervisors, positive interactions with older colleagues, and location-independent, efficient working conditions increase the likelihood that older employees will recommend their employer. In contrast, younger employees’ willingness to recommend their employer primarily depends on flat hierarchies, good career prospects, and flexible working hours. Although the age-related interaction effects are significant, the results point to largely consistent preferences between older and younger employees.
