New publication in the German Journal of Human Resource Management

Dr. Ianina Scheuch from the Chair of Business Education and Management Training has published an article in the German Journal of Human Resource Management together with Junior Professor Dr. Charlotte Förster (Chemnitz University of Technology) and Dr. Stephanie Duchek (Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering IAO). The article entitled "Rising against the odds: Key lessons for promoting female leaders' resilience" examines how women in leadership positions build resilience.

Based on qualitative data in the form of 48 interviews with female managers at lower, middle and upper levels in various industries, the study shows that resilience is shaped by personal resources (e.g. self-confidence, adaptability) and social support (partner, family, friends), is additionally promoted by organizational factors such as inclusive culture, flexible structures and mentoring and is influenced by social framework conditions. The article provides important impulses for how the resilience of women in leadership positions can be strengthened in a targeted manner.
