In an Age of Geopolitical Challenges – A Symposium in Honor of Georg Milbradt

Prof. Dr. Georg Milbradt, former Minister President of the Free State of Saxony and adjunct professor at TU Dresden, is stepping down from active teaching at the Faculty of Business and Economics after many years. We would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to him for his dedicated teaching and his many years of support for economic research in Dresden by hosting a symposium at TU Dresden. The event is being organized jointly by the Faculty of Business and Economics at TU Dresden and the Dresden branch of the ifo Institute.

Georg Milbradt is the former Minister President of Saxony. From 1985 to 2009, he served as an Extraordinary Professor of Economics at the University of Münster, and from 2009 onward, he worked at the Faculty of Business and Economics at the TU Dresden. From 2017 to 2025, he served as the Federal Government’s Special Representative for Administrative Modernization in Ukraine. Learn more

Johannes Becker is a professor of economics at the University of Münster and an expert in tax policy and international taxation. Johannes Becker conducts research on the challenges globalization poses to tax systems and advises policymakers on issues related to international tax policy. Learn more
