60 Minutes on Pension Reform: Video Online

On October 27, 2026, Prof. Joachim Ragnitz (TU Dresden and ifo Dresden) discussed the future of old-age pension systems in Germany with Prof. Axel Börsch-Supan (Munich Research Institute for the Economics of Aging) and Prof. Jörg Rocholl (ESMT European School of Management and Technology) Under the title “Pension Reform: How Sustainable Is the Pension Security Commission’s Compromise?”, the panel provided an academic assessment of the reform proposals and discussed their political feasibility. Among other things, the experts discussed how convincing the proposed measures are for the long-term stabilization of contribution rates and pension levels, and how promising the introduction of a new funded pillar is.
