Academy of Management (AOM) Best Paper Award
We are pleased to announce that Sarah Müller-Sägebrecht, staff member of the Chair for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Isabell Lippert, staff member of the Chair for Business Information Systems, particularly Business Engineering, have received a Best Paper Award from the Academy of Management (Management Education and Development Division). Their research paper, titled "In Tandem with ChatGPT-4: How LLM Enhance Entrepreneurship Education & Business Model Innovation," explores how Large Language Models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT can be utilized in teaching.
In a three-day workshop, the researchers examined how LLMs can assist students in developing and transforming business models. The results suggest that the collaboration between students and LLMs produces valuable and efficient content, fostering innovation in education. Furthermore, it is evident that LLMs can accelerate and refine the prototyping of business models, countering the notion that ChatGPT only provides superficial results.
In addition to developing essential criteria for evaluating LLM outputs and the competencies to be gained, the authors also highlight the opportunities and risks that must be considered when using LLMs in teaching. This critical perspective is crucial for harnessing the potential of LLMs in education and avoiding possible pitfalls. Thus, the researchers make a significant contribution to training the entrepreneurs of tomorrow and set a valuable example for future pedagogical approaches in entrepreneurship education.
We congratulate the award winners on this cross-departmental success and wish presenter Sarah Müller-Sägebrecht much success and valuable feedback at the Academy of Management conference in August.
