Research stay and exchange at the Academy of Management (AoM) 2026 in the United States
The Sustainability and Biodiversity Management research group from TU Dresden visited Pace University in New York and attended the 86th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management (AOM) in Philadelphia.

During the visit to Pace University in New York, the focus was primarily on academic exchange with Prof. Namchul Shin.
During the research visit, current research papers were discussed in joint meetings, and collaboration was reflected upon in the context of attending conferences together. Furthermore, future research initiatives and opportunities for further cooperation were discussed. Personal interaction was complemented by shared lunches and dinners, providing an opportunity to deepen existing collaboration and develop new ideas for joint research projects.
Subsequently, the research group participated in the 2026 Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management (AoM). A highlight of the program was the jointly organized Professional Development Workshop (PDW) titled "Linking People, Places, and Nature: Advancing Socio-Ecological Systems for Corporate Biodiversity Management." The workshop focused on the interconnections between companies, societal actors, and natural habitats, as well as how approaches derived from socio-ecological systems can contribute to the further development of corporate biodiversity management.
Rajat Panwar from Oregon State University (USA) was invited as the keynote speaker. The event was further enriched by an international panel of experts featuring Anne Quarshie (University of Turku, Finland), Jason Good (Aquinas College, USA), Patrick Oko Quaye (University of Exeter, UK & House of Innovation, Stockholm School of Economics, Sweden), and Roberto Ponce Oliva (Universidad del Desarrollo, Chile).
The international networking and intensive academic exchange that took place during the research visit and the AOM 2026 conference underscore the importance of interdisciplinary and international collaborations for research into sustainability and biodiversity management. At the same time, the trip provided valuable impetus for the further development of joint research activities and future projects undertaken by the Sustainability and Biodiversity Management research group at TU Dresden.
