Master's in Public and International Economics Welcome Reception
On October 21, 2026, professors and staff from the Department of Economics welcomed the new students in the Master’s program in Public and International Economics (PIE) at a welcome reception in the Hülße Building. The reception has a long tradition and offers an opportunity each year at the start of the winter semester for everyone to get to know one another and engage in conversation.
The PIE Master’s program launched in the 2023/24 winter semester and combines current global challenges—such as financial crises, climate change, and income inequality—with sound economic methods. The program, taught entirely in English, offers flexible course options and individualized support. This academic year, nearly 40 new students began their studies in the PIE Master’s degree program; the degree program has a total enrollment of approximately 80 students.
