Kick-Off for the new European Joint Action CraNE

On October 01, 2022, the new Joint Action CraNE (Network of Comprehensive Cancer Centres) of the European Commission started, in which our Research Group Digital Health is involved as a partner.

With a kick-off meeting at the office of the German Cancer Society in Berlin, work package 6 "Organization of comprehensive, high-quality cancer care in Comprehensive Cancer Care Networks (CCCNs)" started its joint work in December 2022. In this work package, our Research Group Digital Health will further be improving patient-centeredness in integrated cancer care in CCCNs by implementing patient pathways. To this end, we will enrich our methodology for the design and implementation of patient pathways, developed and tested in the previous Joint Action iPAAC with additional elements of patient engagement and patient empowerment and test them in two pilot CCCNs in Luxembourg and Poland. In addition, we aim to contribute to a broader digital application of patient pathways in CCCNs by providing recommendations on the interoperability of digital patient pathways.

We are looking forward to this promising collaboration with 54 participants from 19 EU member states!
