Participation of Dr. Leyla Azizi in the science communication project of the Joachim Herz Foundation

As part of the "Science Communication" project, Dr. Leyla Azizi was able to work on an exciting project together with Elena Kirillidis and Christian Düring from the Cologne School of Journalism as an Add-On Fellow of the Joachim Herz Foundation. The result of the project was a video on her research project "Biodiversity and the financial sector", in which she had to explain her current research in three minutes.

By working together, the researcher and the budding journalists learned a lot from and with each other - especially about the different methodological approaches and language of the other. "Summarizing my research project in a maximum of three minutes in simple language was a challenge for me," says Leyla Azizi. Her journalistic project partner Elena Kirillidis explains: "It was not easy to film with the researchers, as they are not used to being in front of the camera. But overcoming this challenge together is exactly what makes the project so exciting."
