From the faculty’s own intranet, the computer labs and their maintenance, independently managed databases and applications, to concepts for software distribution. |

| September 2011 | The semester break before the 2012–13 winter semester was used to upgrade the computer lab in the former Senate Hall (SCH A200a). Based on an analysis of various test setups, particularly quiet components were procured, ensuring a comfortable working environment in what is likely the largest single computer lab at TU Dresden, with 51 workstations. Furthermore, a projector control system was installed in this room as well, ensuring that all five faculty computer labs now have a standardized access system for the data projectors. |

| January 2011 | Over the past few days, the OTRS (Open Source Ticket Request System) ticket system has been installed on the Computer Science Lab’s servers. This is a type of software that handles the receipt, confirmation, classification, and processing of customer inquiries (known as “tickets”). Inquiries can now be sent to the Computer Science Lab via the email address or conveniently via the form mailer. You can also register for a PC pool through the ticket system here. |

| August 2010 | Data projectors (beamers) are now permanently installed in all four large PC labs. The beamers are connected to the respective teacher PCs. The stationary projectors are turned on and off via the control module in the cable duct immediately next to the teacher’s PC (with the exception of SCH A200a, where the projector can be operated directly). After turning on the projector, you can enable the projection in Windows by going to Start -> Connect to a Projector -> Double-click. Please turn off the projector again at the end of your session using the OFF button on the control module. Reservations or borrowing of projectors are therefore no longer necessary for the SCH A200a, A200b, B247, and B250 computer labs. |

| August 2005 | Thanks to the allocation of additional funds to improve working conditions in the student computer labs, it became possible to equip all computers with a card reader featuring front-panel USB ports. As a result, all workstations can now read and write not only USB flash drives but also SM, SD, CF I/II, MicroDrive, MMC, RS-MMS, Memory Stick/Pro/Duo (with adapter), SD, SMC, XD, and other card formats. Audio ports are also provided on the front panel. Only the FireWire interface is currently out of service. As a further measure, the A200b computer lab is being equipped with new desks and new data cabling. |
