Terms of use
General regulations

The requirements of occupational safety and fire protection must be conscientiously observed and complied with by all users of the IT Laboratory (IL).

Eating, drinking and smoking are prohibited in all rooms of the IL.

All employees and students of TU Dresden are permitted to use the computing technology in the IL pools. Unauthorized persons are not permitted in the rooms of the IL. The staff on duty are authorized to check the student ID cards of pool users and to exclude unauthorized users from using the pool.

The workstation used and the rooms of the IL must always be kept in an orderly and clean condition.
Use of the equipment

Only users who have the necessary basic operating skills are permitted to work on the PCs. The devices may only be used if they are not marked as defective.

Blocking or keeping workstations free is not permitted.

Apart from the necessary operating handles, any intervention on the devices is prohibited. The existing device configuration (hardware and software) may not be changed. In particular, it is prohibited to install individual software on the IL computers.

Malfunctions must be reported to the IT laboratory (room SCH.B 246, tel.: 32359).

Users will be provided with the necessary system and application software. Copying this software and using the internet to upload/download illegal content is strictly prohibited.

In the event of fire or disaster, the measures specified in the TU's fire safety regulations must be initiated (Tel.: 34515), the mains plugs must be pulled and the main switches switched off.

The instructions of IL staff or duty staff must be followed.

The pools are primarily used for courses offered by the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics. Before using the pool, information about possible pool occupancy must be observed in order not to disrupt the course. The use of free places in underutilized exercises is only permitted in exceptional cases and only with the consent of the lecturers.

Work in the pools must be as quiet as possible. The use of cell phones or video conferencing is prohibited.

The respective workstation must be tidied up at the end of use. The waste bins are not to be used for general waste. Subsequent users must be guaranteed a punctual start of work, especially during courses.
Final remarks

Violations of the user regulations will result in the exclusion of users from pool operations.
Video surveillance
1 Purpose of the surveillance
The video surveillance equipment is used as part of the exercise of domiciliary rights and for the prevention or investigation of criminal offenses in accordance with § 13 SächsDSDG in conjunction with DV Video Surveillance [1]. DV video surveillance [1]. In particular, it serves to protect material and immaterial goods from theft or vandalism. In the event of the above-mentioned incidents, recorded video data is used exclusively to preserve evidence. The use of this data to monitor the behavior or performance of employees or students is not permitted and does not take place.
2 Monitored areas
The PC pools in the rooms of SCH A200a, A200b, B247 and B250 as well as the anteroom SCH A.200a are monitored.
3 Responsibilities
Marko Ott (SCH B.346, Tel. 32629) is responsible for the installation, maintenance and operation of the monitoring equipment as well as for the administration of the recorded data and the allocation of access rights.
4 Recording of video data
Recording in the PC pools and for the data backup technology is continuous. The video data is recorded on a dedicated server. The data is generally deleted on the second working day after the date of recording, but after 7 days at the latest.
Video recordings of recorded offenses must be kept for longer to preserve evidence. However, they must be deleted immediately after the purpose has ceased to apply.
5 Access rights
The server of the video surveillance system is operated in the IT laboratory, which employs an IT administrator for this purpose.
Clients for live monitoring are available to the on-duty supervisor of the Business and Economics Computing Lab. Access is password-protected. Recorded data cannot be retrieved by the persons concerned.
The evaluation of recorded data is only permitted in special cases (suspicion of criminal acts) and only on the express instruction of the head or deputy head of the IT laboratory. The Data Protection Officer of TU Dresden must be informed prior to the evaluation of recorded data. Only in the case of "imminent danger" can this information also be provided retrospectively. Access to and evaluation of recorded video data, and in particular the reason for the evaluation, must be logged.
6. specifications for general data security
The server of the video surveillance system must be protected by suitable measures against access from outside in accordance with the state of the art. Access to the server software must be restricted to authorized clients. Access to the live and recording data must be restricted to the authorized persons (server administrator, persons as per point 5) using different passwords. The data security measures are documented in a security concept.
7 Rights and obligations of employees and users of the PC pools
Employees and users of the computer labs must be informed about the use of the video surveillance system by means of a notice in the entrance area.
8 Entry into force
These regulations enter into force on the date of their announcement.
