New Master seminar: “Organizing in Times of Crisis: The Case of War and Armed Conflict”

The Russian invasion of Ukraine last month brings, in addition to the suffering of the directly affected people, a new crisis for individuals, institutions, and organizations worldwide. In order to respond to these short-term developments also at university, the Chair of Organization (Prof. Blagoev) will offer a seminar on "Organizing in Times of Crisis: The Case of War and Armed Conflict" in the upcoming summer semester. The seminar has been developed by various universities in German-speaking countries as a collaborative and open teaching format and will be offered as part of the module "Aktuelle Themen des strategischen Managements” (Current Topics in Strategic Management).

Thematically, the seminar will address the implications and issues for management and organizations emerging from war. In addition to transforming stakeholder relationships in a global context, increasingly relevant topics such as supply chains, corporate responsibility, and new organizational forms such as hacker collectives and platforms will be discussed.
