Faculty day, graduation ceremony, and summer party 2026
Part I: Faculty Day
Faculty Day kicked off on June 17 in Lecture Hall HÜL S 386 with the inaugural lecture by Prof. Stefan Razinskas. Prof. Razinskas has held the Chair of Business Administration, in particular Organization and Management since October 2024. He teaches and conducts research on team diversity and stress, co-created leadership, teamwork, and leadership. In his inaugural lecture, “Many Perspectives, One Goal: Successful Collaboration in Teams and Organizations,” he highlighted the impact of diversity on collaboration.
The inaugural lecture was followed by a presentation by Dr. Robert Lehmann who studied Economics at the faculty and subsequently earned his doctorate there. As Head of the Germany Forecast Group at the ifo Center for Macroeconomics and Surveys in Munich and a research associate at the faculty, his core research areas include economic analysis and forecasting, empirical macroeconomics, national accounts, and time series analysis. In his presentation, he shared current figures on economic assessments and forecasts derived from the Spring 2026 Joint Economic Assessment.

The inaugural lecture was followed by the presentation of the Dr. Feldbausch Prize for outstanding dissertations to Dr. My Hanh Doan and Dr. Benedikt Zipfel, the
Dr. Händel Award to Dr. Ann-Sophie Lauterbach and Daniel Vrankar, and the Professor Hilbert Publication Award to Anton Barabsch, Dr. Andreas Leibing, Simon Bolz, and Hendrik Scharf. In addition, the Distinguished Research Award was presented to Professor Russel McKenna of ETH Zurich.

Part II: Graduation ceremony and summer party
The Faculty Day was followed by the Graduation Ceremony for the class of 2025/26. At the ceremony in Lecture Hall TRE/PHYS/H - which was largely organized in collaboration with nexus e.V. - 180 graduates, along with their families and friends, listened to speeches by Prof. Niels Modler, Vice-Rector Academic Affairs; Prof. Michael Schefczyk, Dean of the Faculty; Yvonne Rostock, a faculty alumna; and Katharina Kohstall, a graduate with a diploma in Industrial Engineering and Management.

Our summer party on the large lawn by the Potthoff Building rounded out a packed day filled with exciting presentations, inspiring speeches, and many wonderful, emotional moments, where, just as in previous years, we received fantastic support at the barbecue stand and the bars from the students of the FSR Wiwi and the VWI Dresden Group e.V.
