Student visit to Infineon Dresden
On Tuesday, January 23, a group of students from the Faculty of Business and Economics joined a guided visit to Infineon Dresden. They could see the clean rooms and the manufacturing process of wafers. After this, the innovation manager gave a presentation about the mission and structure of the company. Also, data scientists working at the Development Center Dresden talked about how machine learning and AI methods are used in research and development. Lastly, some students presented the final projects of the WPA Deep Learning course in which they used some real data shared by the Infineon team, and there was also some time for networking and getting to know insights about working at Infineon. This event was co-organized by Felipe Santos-Marquez, a research associate at the Chair of Economics, esp. International Economics. Special thanks to the Infineon team in charge of this event: Matthias Ernst, Lina-Marie Minuth, Feriel Zoghlam, and Christoph Koegler, among others.
