WPA project for the spontaneous
In the WPA project "Financial Robotics meets Ostsächsische Sparkasse" you will have the opportunity to deal with the design of humanoid service robots in an application-oriented way. In cooperation with Ostsächsische Sparkasse Dresden, you will work in small teams to program Pepper, a humanoid service robot, for specific banking applications. The aim is to develop solutions for current challenges in the banking branch, which will be implemented on Pepper. These include unlocking online banking access, portfolio recommendations and in-branch entertainment services.
The project will start with a kick-off event at the location in Dresden Strießen of Ostsächsische Sparkasse on May 3. During the kick-off event, you will be introduced to the technical basics of Pepper and familiarized with the current challenges in banking. The group work is designed to promote technical and, in particular, social skills such as teamwork and project management. The final part of the project consists of a presentation of the developed solutions to a specialist audience, which will include experts from TU Dresden and managers from the Ostsächsische Sparkasse. The most successful solutions will then be tested at the Ostsächsische Sparkasse for several months in order to evaluate their effectiveness and practicality.
As a final note: you do not need any programming skills, as you will be shown everything you need to know at the kick-off event. We will also be available to answer any questions you may have throughout the duration of the project.
If you would like to take part in this WPA project, please send a short e-mail to Maximilian Meiler by April 30 :
We will then enroll you in the OPAL course.
We look forward to your participation!
