Members of the Chair of Junior Professorship in Sustainability Assessment and Policy actively participated in the NAMA 2024 Conference, organized by the German Academic Association of Business Research (VHB). Held at the TUM Campus Straubing on the banks of the river Danube from October 10-11, the conference provided a platform for researchers to present their work, engage in discussions, and receive feedback. Attendees from the chair included Jun.-Prof. Dr. Samanthi Dijkstra-Silva, Dr. Ilka Weissbrod, Sabrina Schmidt, Emma Lloyd, and Varun Bharadwaj Gurugubelli, who all took part in various presentations and networking activities.
A highlight of the conference was Dr. Ilka Weissbrod, who presented four papers aimed at sharing knowledge and gathering feedback from the academic community. Emma Lloyd also delivered a compelling presentation on “Opportunity and Challenge – The Role of Digital Technologies for Sustainability Accounting in Supply Chains,” while Sabrina Schmidt presented her research, “Navigating Sustainability Crossroads: A Configurational Analysis of Incumbent Firms' Modes of Behavior.” Both Emma and Sabrina also participated in the doctoral consortium, where they discussed their ongoing research projects. Jun.-Prof. Dr. Samanthi Dijkstra-Silva participated as a panelist in the PhD Career Panel.
Varun Bharadwaj Gurugubelli contributed to the conference with his presentation titled “Decision-Making for Sustainability: A Systematic Literature Review of Sustainability Assessments.” In addition to these individual contributions, Jun-Prof. Dr. Samanthi Dijkstra-Silva and Dr. Weissbrod chaired two sessions.
