Two papers accepted for the European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS) 2024
We are pleased to announce that our chair will be represented with two research papers at the European Conference of Information Systems (ECIS) 2024, which this year has the motto "People First: Constructing Digital Futures Together". The following papers will be presented at ECIS, which takes place from 13/06/2024 to 19/06/2024 in Paphos, Cyprus:
Felix Hirsch, Dix Maik Gräubig, Martin Wiener, Alexander Benlian: "Algorithmic Control Configurations: A Comparative Study of Platform and Non-Platform Workers' Legitimacy Judgments". The article deals with the increasing importance of algorithmic control (AC) in platform and non-platform work environments. Using fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis, 14 configurations of AC are identified that lead to positive workers' legitimacy judgements regarding autonomy, fairness and privacy, while also highlighting the negative effects of workplace isolation.
Isabell Lippert: "Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Managerial Work: A Theoretical Review of Managerial Roles". The literature analysis shows that artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly taking over middle management tasks and can fundamentally change traditional roles: While some tasks are being replaced by AI or performed in collaboration with human managers, new meta-roles are emerging that support existing managerial tasks and bundle new tasks created by the use of AI.
We would like to thank all co-authors for their participation and support. We also wish the presenters every success and insightful discussions.
