The research vision addressed by the collaborative research center HAEC (Highly Adaptive Energy-Efficient Computing) is to enable high-performance computing with high energy efficiency. Currently, there is a severe lack of infrastructures that allow us to monitor the state and to control the energy consumption of such a system. The subproject EAST (Energy-Aware STream Configuration and Management), aims to meet the need for a monitoring component to observe, analyze and predict the resource and energy consumption of the HAEC Box.rnrnThe efficient and adaptive operation of the HAEC architecture requires detailed information regarding the current state and utilisation of the HAEC box. This data is obtained via software-sensors and must be integrated, processed and analysed by a datastream management system (DSMS) that takes heterogeneous system requirements into account. Regarding data management, EAST aims to develop a layered synopsis architecture, which can be parameterized and configured through the requirements of the data-consuments. Furthermore EAST regars the area of data analysis, by examining so-called 'anytime algorithms' which can provide results at any point of their runtime. rnThe combination of both topics will allow the fast and energy-efficient processing of data streams.rnrn
