TU Dresden establishes new connections to India
A new cooperation agreement has now been concluded between Technische Universität Dresden (TUD) and the Indian Institute of Sciences (IISc). The cooperation focus is on joint research and education initiatives in the field of biophysics and nanotechnology. The TUD institutes B CUBE and BIOTEC, the Chair of Nanosciences as well as the Max Bergmann Center of Biomaterials and the Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden are involved in the cooperation on the German side.
"Understanding the physical principles of motion, self-organisation, communication and material design on the nano- and micro-scale and their implementation in new concepts in materials sciences and engineering are some of the visionary topics of this cooperation", says Prof. Stefan Diez, Chair for BioNano Tools at B CUBE - Center for Molecular Bioengineering and Managing Director of the Center for Molecular and Cellular Bioengineering (CMCB) at TU Dresden. "But also the development and application of new instruments based on micro- and nanotechnological methods for diagnostics as well as therapeutic applications in the life sciences are defined goals of the cooperation.”
The cooperation is supported by a core grant from the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD and enables both institutions to highlight intercultural topics in addition to their scientific cooperation.
