Title: "Single Molecule Dynamics of Protein Nucleic Acids: From Gene Editing to Chromatin Remodelling"
Abstract: The Rueda Lab investigates the molecular mechanisms that regulate epigenetic processes involved in human diseases, such as cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. To this aim, we develop and apply single-molecule approaches to image the structural dynamics of protein-nucleic acid complexes across scales (from molecules to cells). We are particularly interested in elucidating various mechanistic aspects of chromatin processing and gene expression regulation, such as chromatin structure and remodeling, DNA damage and repair, and gene editing. In this seminar, I will present our latest findings on how CRISPR/Cas9 finds off-targets and the chromatin remodeling mechanism of ySWR1.
