How can a fragrance recall a pleasant memory in your brain?
Can we build robots to achieve the same task?
Get updated with the latest smelling machines innovations at the Dresden campus and beyond. I am pleased to announce the next Olfaction-Symposium “Smelling Machines – Cells, Humans and Robots”, organized by Federico Calegari.
Discover the molecular and technological mysteries of the sense of smell. Top researchers studying sense of smell meet at the CRTD to present their latest results. The symposium aims to bring together researchers specializing in different disciplines that all focus on understanding the principles of the sense of smell. Their work ranges from basic research, studying the sense of smell with the use of stem cells, animal models, and humans, to researching new technologies that can mimic or enhance smelling abilities. The symposium is followed by a social hour. It will let the speakers engage with the audience and discuss their research in an informal way. The visitors have the chance to test their smell by taking part in a Smell Competition. They can also meet the Sniffbot, a robot that showcases artificial olfaction technology that will be demoed during the event.
