Title: "Lipids as Molecular Codes for Supracellular Architectures"
Abstract: Lipids are fundamental constituents of living matter. In addition to being structural components of cellular membranes and serving as energy reserves, lipids encode essential spatial information across scales. Within cells, membrane lipid diversity underlies organelle identity and function via the organization of lipid domains, gradients, and membrane contacts between subcellular compartments. Beyond intracellular aspects, heterogeneous lipid composition tracks with fine‑grained tissue architecture. Here I will discuss how recent advances in spatial lipidomics and lipid are beginning to capture lipid signatures that define cellular states, cell identities, and tissue domains.
