New DFG Funding for Projects With High Sequencing Costs
The German Research Foundation (DFG) offers new funding for projects with high sequencing costs. Project leaders can apply for funding in collaboration with academic sequencing centers. It can be used to cover sequencing costs in both medical and non-medical fields. The DRESDEN-concept Genome Center (DcGC) encourages all partner groups to consider applying for DFG funding and offers initial project counseling for everyone interested.
The key points of the new DFG funding program for projects with high sequencing costs:
- for projects with a sequencing cost of 100,000 to 1 million euros
- the funding is to be jointly applied for by the scientifically responsible project leader and the academic directors of the sequencing center
- the scientifically responsible person applies for usual project costs, while the sequencing center serves as co-applicant for corresponding next-generation sequencing cost
The full guidelines for funding are available on the DFG website (German).
If you are interested in applying, do not hesitate and contact the experts at the DcGC. Our experts are here to support you, discuss your ideas, and provide you input on your project ideas.
